Nissley Winery and Chickie’s Rock Trip
On Sunday my traveling buddy, Ben, and I ventured to Nissley Winery and Chickie’s Rock Park. Both the winery and the park are in Bainbridge, PA. Bainbridge is on the boarder of York and Lancaster counties, and is about 35 minutes away from Millersville University.
Nissley Winery has been making wine for over 30 years, and is opened 7 days a week, year-round.

Winery features:
- Free wine tasting
- Self-guided tour
- Summer lawn concerts
- Wine shop
The winery’s staff is friendly, informative, and helpful. On my visit I learned that grape tannins make wine taste drier and that Nissley is a family owned business.
And besides its great staff, Nissly’s wine is affordable and tastes delicious. I highly recommend the wine tasting. Not only is it free and fun, but it also helps familiarize you with the wine. Every time I visit I can’t leave without buying at least one bottle of wine. My favorite is their sweet, spiced red wine.

After Nissley Winery, Ben and I headed over to Chickie’s Rock Park to watch the sunset. We hiked to an overlook about 10 minutes off the main road. The view from the overlook is absolutely beautiful!

The park closes after sundown and reopens at dawn.
